It's easy to become an entrepreneur these days. You can simply set up your web page online and persistently market your stuff on social media. Earning millions is sexy!
But let's face it, competition is tough! You'll die out there if you don't know what you're up against. It's necessary to learn all that we can if we want success in our chosen path.
Golden Hands?
If only I could have golden hands! Wouldn't it be amazing to see success and get amazing results every time? But things don't work that way. There's always a price to pay.Success requires effort, diligence, and persistence. There are no shortcuts!
“There are no quick wins in business – it takes years to become an overnight success.”

A Little Chit Chat
This is the second book I've read from President Trump. I'm surprised he co-authored this with Robert Kiyosaki, author of the classic book, Rich Dad Poor Dad. "This must be a worthwhile read." I thought. The first book I've read from the President is The Art of the Deal. It's an interesting read. You'll glean insights on how to make a successful deal/negotiation.
Now that I've finished reading, let's take a look at what we can learn from Midas Touch by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki.
Will it help us with our dreams to become an entrepreneur? Or grow our business? Keep on reading...
3 Nuggets from the Book
Here are 3 of my favorite gleanings from the book.- Fear is the entrepreneur's motivation to learn. If fear paralyzes you, keep your daytime job.
- Having a vision for something can be a very powerful force for accomplishment. Those who persevere, and those who take risks, have a real chance of acquiring the Midas Touch. Most importantly, never give up. And don’t forget the learning curve. Learn something new every day.
- Criticism is easier to take when you realize that the only people who aren't criticized are those who don't take risks. Don't be afraid of the risk involve -- and know you're in good company if you're criticized.
The Midas Touch Metaphor that Represents 5 Critical Attributes to Entrepreneurial Success:
- The thumb - stands for emotional maturity & strength of character.
- The index finger - stands for focus.
- The middle finger - stands for your brand and what you stood for.
- The ring finger - stands for relationships.
- The little finger - stands for the little things that count.
Which Type of Intelligence is a Must for An Entrepreneur?
In this book, you will be introduced to the 7 types of intelligence. You don't even need a high IQ to succeed as an entrepreneur, but EQ or intra-personal intelligence. When you have strong intrapersonal skills, you can control the self-talk that holds you back and undermines your success. People with low EQ have challenges with will power.
Let's Talk EQ.
How can I improve my EQ? Actually, answers abound online. Let's base it on what is talked above then. The key is to evaluate what you've been saying to yourself and then change your words.
See yourself as someone successful. Convince yourself that you are deserving of the rewards of your labor. Tell yourself that if others can do it, so can you.
Truth is, we are the only ones limiting ourselves from achieving what we want!
And when you do, your actions will align with your words. I know, it's not easy. I'm not there myself. It's been said, practice makes improvement. ;)
EQ is only a small section I've shared from the book. The rest? You'll have to dig them yourself. Grab your copy here.

Midas Touch Book Review
I love it! My husband highly recommends Midas Touch by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki as well. I enjoyed my time reading this book as it is written in an autobiography format. Both authors shared their personal business stories and how they're able to overcome the many challenges they face despite the heartless cut-throat competition. That's just how the business world works!
This book is straightforward. Expect real talk! You're not promised rainbows and chocolate-coated marshmallows in the world of entrepreneurship. Again, success requires hard work, sacrifice, and persistence!
Rating: 5/5
