(Sorry I've been slacking off last week. In life, we go through valley and mountaintop experiences. Truth is... It's been tough for me lately so I took a week off from blogging. To compensate for that I'll be publishing 2 blog posts this week.)
Two weekends ago, our little family went on a road trip to Galveston Island Texas. The trip took 3 - 4 hours from Austin. It was a quick family vacation for us. We went there on a Friday and went back home the next day.
We didn't do much since we have an 11-month-old in tow. I was a little bit anxious about how it'll go with baby. I shouldn't have because everything went well. :)

Day 1
The first thing we did is head to the beach. Roadside car parking is $1 per hour.
After our fun time at the beach, we then checked-in at The San Luis Resort Galveston. Love that view from our room!
Our little guy loves the water so much. It's fun seeing his first-time reactions in all of these.
And oh, don't forget to apply sunscreen. It's a must! Since our little guy suffers from eczema, we used Neutrogena Pure & Free Sunscreen Lotion on him. This product doesn't flare his skin up.

At dinner time, we headed to Landry's Seafood House. (Ah, we miss fresh seafood!) The restaurant is within walking distance from the resort. Food is great and the price is reasonable at $60 USD (excluding tip) for 2 but... waiting time is around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Oh, and don't dare wait at the benches outside. Spare yourself from bird poop. Haha!
A little tip: Order the fresh catch of the day. It's really good! (Ugh... now I'm hungry.) You get to choose how it's cook too. Yum!
We then went for an ice cream dessert at Cup + Cone, situated inside the resort, and then retired for the night. Phew, traveling with a baby is a lot of work.... but so much fun!
Day 2
Uhm... our little guy had a hard time sleeping that night. Understandable. He's used to his crib by now. I got worried that the next door occupants would knock on our door. Glad they didn't.
What's so funny is that our little love slept in a sitting position. Haha! And when he fell he'll try to get back to that position again. My husband tried to lay him down but the baby wouldn't budge. Lol!
After sunrise, we went on a quick dip at the beach. Then we checked-out from the resort and headed to Galveston's historic downtown area, The Strand, for brunch and souvenirs.
Overall, it was fun but rather expensive. The resort alone costs around $400 USD per night. Oh well...
