"Beautiful weather this coming weekend." The hubby remark. "Better not let it go to waste."
"What's your plan?"
"How about camping at Bon Echo Provincial park?" He suggested.
I don't mind wherever so long we were together. I'll be sleeping in the passenger seat getting there anyway. He drives I don't. Thankfully, a vacant spot opened up that weekend. A road trip ensued.
The route to the park is scenic even more so in the Fall. We pass by Bonnechere caves on the way there which is one of the must-see places in Ontario, Canada.
Bon Echo Provincial Park is huge and well-maintained. Washrooms are clean which is important if you're staying overnight or longer. Shower rooms are available too.
Can you see people on canoes in the photo above?
That cliff called the "Mazinak rock" is a historic site in Canada. It is covered with 260 pictographs of the ancient Aboriginal peoples. More here.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to get up close. The site ran out of canoes for rent. Better to bring your own kayak or paddle board.
And yes, you can climb up that cliff. If that's your thing.
We stayed for one night at the park. You need to reserve a spot online before coming. See here. Unlike our previous camping trips, we didn't with a group. We've done this many times that we're already used to sleeping in a tent.
Our area is quite big. It could accommodate an RV or 3 or more tents.
It's so beautiful out there our beloved son had to take his own photos. :)
We went swimming the next day. If you can, go canoeing and see those picture images on the cliff.
