"It was getting dark. Can we still make it to the lookout?" Our pace is increasing. We are catching our breaths. The track is steep and I was wearing booties with mid-length heels! Gosh, my feet are starting to hurt but we had to make it before sunset.
"Are we in the right way?", I wonder. We keep on moving until we saw the stairs. Oh no, there are more steps!

Our target is to reach the lookout at the Chalet, from there we get to see scenic view of the city of Montreal along with its tall buildings. But we were in such a hurry that we went to the opposite side. Oops! We arrived at the cross instead.
There's no turning back now, we have to move forward else will miss the sunset. Glad we found another lookout at Camillien-Houde. Here, enjoy the views!

The entrance here is free but looking for a place to park is tough. We paid $12 CAD for parking. It's free if you're only there for less than 30 minutes.
Actually, hiking up will take you more than 30 minutes. Nope, you won't be able to avail of their free parking. Make sure you are fit enough to do this though.
Also, I've noticed a handful of people jogging there. The park is a good place to train for a marathon. (This is what I've assumed, not that I've ever joined one. Our friends, traveling with us, also agreed.)
Gorgeous isn't it? It's even stunning with the bright hues of fall covering Mount Royal. Thank God, we made it before nightfall!
Mount Royal is the last spot on our 5-day Quebec + Montreal Road Trip Itinerary. We're not able to come here last summer when we took a day trip to the city. Glad we skipped it at that time because, for me, Fall is the best season to visit. The colors during autumn are absolutely beautiful.
You see, this is the first time we've witnessed the bright colors of fall, no wonder we are floored!

There you go, friends. I hope our experience at Mount Royal gave you an idea of what to expect during your visit to the area. You have fun, yeah? Talk to you soon then. ;)
