The weather that Saturday was 0 degrees celsius. The wind was blowing four times colder but the skies are blue. Depending on who you ask you'd get varying answers. The hubby says it is a nice fine weekend. Me? Cold. Cold. Cold!
In my book, I'd consider temperatures below 22 degrees celsius cold. Simply because that is our apartment heater setting this winter. Haha. What's your number?
Since the hubby craves ramen from a nearby city -- by nearby I mean 2 hours car drive from Ottawa, Ontario, we traveled to Montreal to pursue his wanton appetites. Well, isn't that a great thing? I'll have material to write for my blog. So off we went.
Where to Eat
Last month I did a Food Recommendation list in Montreal. You can find it here. The hubby wants to wolf down the best ramen in town so we headed straight to Kinton Ramen.Do you like spicy food and ramen? If yes, high five. My love for anything spicy leveled up after meeting Canada's chillingly cold weather.
As mentioned from my post (linked above), Kinton Ramen offers the perfect marriage of ingredients served in a bowl. They didn't pay me to write this, which means you're guaranteed delicious taste because of one raving customer who couldn't stop writing about them.
So yeah, check them out at a location near you. That if you happen to live in Canada. I heard they've opened branches in South Korea too. Which reminds me, I haven't been there.
Mount Royal Lookout
Thirty to Forty-Five minutes later, we emerged with buttons about to bursts. Except I didn't have one since I was wearing thermal leggings. But I can assure you my husband's side is true. Haha.The hubby proposed we should start heading back home.
"Seriously? That's it? What about the material for my blog?" I protested.
Since everyone is bursting at the seams why don't we visit Mount Royal? You know, stroll the area and give our stomachs time to digest the food?
And as you can tell, I won. I wouldn't be telling you this account if I hadn't. ;)
Parking
We immediately found a parking space when we arrived. The parking fee costs $3.25 CAD per hour. We paid $7.50 CAD.The Snowy Path
When we visited Mount Royal last fall, we went to the other end of the small mountain where the Mount Royal Cross is. See here. Autumn is colorful. Winter gave a different flavor.We walk the snowy path to the lookout. There were people skiing. Some jog. Others leisurely walking their dogs. But most were simply enjoying the scenery.
We stop by halfway to check a group of squirrels feasting on bird feed. These tiny creatures are highly territorial. When a bird braved to collect what's supposedly theirs, the rodents would quickly take action to shoo the former away. Haha.

There were kids playing on the snow. Little ones sliding on the icy slope. And adults taking pictures noting the episode.
The stimulation happening all at once made our 2-year-old giggle. He wanted in too. He stomped and kicked and jumped and shrieked. He was so thrilled he wanted to walk all the way back to the car.
I would have wanted to visit the Saint Joseph's Oratory next but I'm not the driver so we'll have to schedule that one when we come back. You know, when the time comes for the hubby's impulse to eat ramen rise again. Haha.
Let's see what happens until then.
