We had business in Mississauga, Ontario. We took the 4-hour drive from Ottawa and settled what needs to be done. Initially, we planned to go back home on the same day. But our bodies and driver -- that's hubby -- are too tired to hit the road again. The most sensible thing to do is stay for the night.
Is it safe to stay in a hotel while Covid-19 and its new variants are at large?
Very. Never have we felt uncomfortable during our overnight stay. We spend the night at Homewood Suites. We have a long history with the Hilton chain of hotels. When we relocated to Austin, Texas on December 31st, 2014, we stayed with them for a month. This happened again in 2019 when we move to Ottawa, Ontario.
Today, we're Hilton Rewards members. No wonder we dart to this hotel brand each time we travel to gain points, of course. :D
I'm not suggesting you go tonight and book a hotel for leisure. Please follow your state or country laws. Unless it's an essential to-do that requires your attendance.
Another cause for our confidence in our faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. We don't take protection for granted. I may sound superstitious (think whatever). But whether you believe it or not, our natural world is highly influenced by the spiritual.
Whenever we into a new place with an intention to spend the night -- a hotel room, new house, or apartment rental -- we charge God's angel armies to keep our ways. We do this by prayer and sanctifying the place with anointing oil.
Let me be clear. We don't put our confidence in these things, as good as they are. These actions are the outworking of what's already inside. Working out what God has already put in, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12)
After settling what we came for, we spent the rest of the day sleeping. Haha. Everyone is exhausted. And there's nowhere to go since Ontario is on lockdown.
The next day, however, we have a lunch picnic with our friends at Erindale Park. Then, headed to Jack Darling Memorial Park to check out the beach.
Yes, the body of water shown in the first picture above does look like a seashore, except it's not. It's a lake. A huge one. It's called Lake Ontario. One of the five great lakes in North America.
Can you spot CN Tower from the same photo?
You'll have to zoom in to see it. By the way, you might also be interested to see the Striking City Views of Toronto from the CN Tower. Click the link to check it out.
My only regret is not bringing our DSLR camera. I would have been able to show you better quality than these.
