When I reach the living area, the husband pointed to a mid-sized brown box. "Look, it has your name on it?"
"Is it from this company?"
"Check it out yourself." He pressed while drawing a smile on his face.
It was from LV. My order arrived early.
It may be profligate of me to spend money on something so extravagant. I agree. But thirteen years have come and gone since I graduated from college and joined the workforce and I never bought something, a token, to remind me of all those years of hard work.
I've resigned twice, lost months of income, got laid-off, move countries, cried bucketfuls because I cannot for the life of me solve some software issues, thus, it's time to spend on something I will love for years. Plus, I could resell this bag when I get tired of it, or when we need money for emergencies (hopefully not), or for investment ventures.
It's a fact, the value of luxury bags goes up year after year. Had I bought one or two from years prior when we move to the US, I would have made money out of them. Haha, too late for that now.
Also, there's something about luxury bags that instantly elevate an outfit. When you pick classic designs, they will never go out of style. Ever.
For the cost per wear, say, donning this bag for the next 5 years or 10 years, it's much practical compared to buying trends that will only last for a season. Plus, we avoid heaping a lot of unwanted stuff into our landfills.
The shift to loving classic styles was due to the Marc Jacobs wallet I bought 8 years ago. Until now, it still looks nice. It opened my eyes to quality, to classic styles.
My first choice for the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis is the monogram print. But I got impatient with the wait. They're always out of stock online. After watching many reviews on Youtube, I settled with black Empreinte leather.
It also helps that I watch a video on how quality leather is made. It made me appreciate the material even more. Though the monogram version looks super chic.

"I can't wait to go out today." I broadcasted, wishing the soundwaves carries my voice to my husband's ears.
At 6pm that day, he emerged out from the basement home office, saying, "Let's go out."
We bought food and drinks and went to a nearby park. We talked about how I could never afford this bag a few years ago. Reminiscing on my journey, I'm mentally down on my knees, grateful to God.
