From Singapore to Austin, Texas, USA to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and then back to Austin, Texas. And within those cities, we move from one apartment to another, settling from one house to the next. Phew! Exhausting I know. Exciting nonetheless.
After relocating back to Austin, Texas, we decided to buy a new house. Since it's a new build, the one-month wait felt like one year. Our excitement rose like yeast with each passing day. Now here we are enjoying our 3-year dream of becoming homeowners once again. :)
We still have most of our stuff (see here). I've retained those items that cost more. Others, I've given away.
I DIY'ed the white vase above using DryDex, coffee grounds, and chalk paint. It use to be gold (this). The new look complements better with the interior style I'm going for.
Same with the beads below. I use air dry clay. Mold it into round balls. Poke a hole in the middle using a pencil. Then, harden outside for 2-3 days.
Once dry, mix this gray chalk paint with black matte paint. Afterward, dab this sandstone chalk paint on top using tissue paper. Seal all your work with matte clear coat spray paint. Then, string them together with twine. This took a week to make though. For the full tutorial, click here.
